Actress Han So-hee, known for her intense and edgy roles on screen, recently drew attention for an act of generosity behind the scenes. In July 2024, she quietly purchased 43 brand-new laptops, worth around 50 million won (approximately 36,000 USD), and donated them to students at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. The gesture only came to light on June 29, 2025, surprising many who were more familiar with her cool and detached on-screen image.
Initially, Han So-hee had agreed to appear at a single workshop organized by Kim Min Soo, the stunt coordinator she had worked with on My Name (Netflix, 2021). Instead of limiting her participation to that one event, she voluntarily extended it into a week-long special course, teaching four hours a day. Throughout the program, she personally trained students in screen combat techniques, facial expression control, and emotional depth in performance. The students affectionately called her “Team Leader,” a nickname that reflected the bond she built with the class.
When the course ended, Han So-hee used her own money to buy 43 laptops for every student who had attended. Several of the devices carried her handwritten notes and signatures, making them personal keepsakes. According to Kim Min Soo, in all his years of teaching, he had never seen an actor give such gifts out of their own pocket. Her commitment did not stop there. Han So-hee later returned to the school for the graduation ceremony, personally handing diplomas to each student.
