Chen Duling, born October 18, 1993, is a Chinese actress and model. She works in film and television in mainland China. Chen rose to fame for her role in the youth romance film The Left Ear (2015), directed by Alec Su, and has since appeared in the television dramas Love in Flames of War (2022), Till the End of the Moon (2023), Mysterious Lotus Casebook (2023), and The Glory (2025).
Early life
Chen Duling was born in Xiamen, Fujian, China. She scored 621 points in the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). She later majored in Aircraft Manufacturing Engineering at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
In February 2013, while she was a first-year university student, Chen Duling participated in Facejoking, an online campus beauty ranking competition. She surpassed Zhang Zetian, who was popularly known as the “Milk Tea Girl,” and ranked first on the goddess list. Notably, Chen was the only contestant to submit an ID photo instead of a stylized portrait, which drew widespread attention on social media.
Career
In April 2015, Chen Duling launched her acting career with the lead role of Li Er in the feature film The Left Ear. Later in August, she starred as Li Wuanying in the series Seventeen Blue on Youku.
In June 2016, Chen Duling received a nomination for Best New Actress at the 24th Shanghai Film Critics Awards for her performance in The Left Ear.
In 2017, Chen Duling played Xia Zao’an in the film Inference Notes in November. In December, she appeared as the young Chan Mei in the film Namiya and played Ji Tiantian in Operation Love, which aired on Dragon TV. Earlier in March, she participated in the project My Awesome Country.
In 2018, Chen Duling played the dual roles of Wang Shishi and Yue Er in the iQIYI series Myth of Sword in July. In October, she joined the project Perhaps Love. By December, she was honored with the “Most Popular Icon” award at the iFeng Fashion Choice Awards and starred as Jiang Han in the film Dream Breaker.
In 2019, Chen Duling starred as Lin Qiyue in the iQIYI series Another Me in September, also contributing to the soundtrack alongside Shen Yue. In October, she participated in the recordings for My Motherland and I and Starry Sea. In November, she took on the role of Tao in the film The Twins.
