Cheng Yi (birth name: Fu Shiqi; born May 17, 1990) is a Chinese actor primarily active in television dramas and film. He graduated with a degree in Acting from the Central Academy of Drama.

Early life

Cheng Yi grew up in Chenxi County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province. His family has a military background, with several relatives serving in the armed forces. Aspiring to pursue an acting career, he moved to Beijing to study and seek professional opportunities.

During his early years in the capital, Cheng Yi experienced financial hardship; at one point, he reportedly slept in public parks without informing his family. After graduating from the Central Academy of Drama in 2012, he began pursuing acting as a full-time profession.

Career

Cheng Yi made his acting debut in 2011 with a role in the television drama Beauty World. The following year, after graduating from the Central Academy of Drama, he appeared in the film Haunting Love.

From 2014 to 2016, Cheng Yi took part in several historical television dramas, notably portraying Lin Jingyu in Noble Aspirations (2016), a series that achieved high viewership ratings.

In 2019, he played Zhang Qiling in The Lost Tomb II: Explore with the Note, part of a popular action-adventure franchise with a substantial audience base.

In 2020, Cheng Yi starred as Yu Sifeng in Love and Redemption. In the same year, he appeared in the palace drama The Promise of Chang’an.

Between 2021 and 2022, Cheng Yi continued to take on leading roles in multiple television projects. In 2021, he starred in Stand By Me. In 2022, he portrayed Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou in Immortal Samsara and played Zhou Yian in Draw the Line, a modern drama centered on judicial themes.

In 2023, Cheng Yi participated in two television series: Mysterious Lotus Casebook, in which he played Li Lianhua, and South Wind Knows, where he portrayed Fu Yunshen.

In 2024, Cheng Yi appeared in Deep Lurk, marking a transition into the crime and thriller genre.
