Early life
Fukumoto Riko was born and raised in Osaka. In interviews, she once mentioned that as a child she was fond of donut shops and even thought about working at one because of her love for donuts.
Her entry into the entertainment industry began in 2016 at the age of 15, when she won both the Grand Prix and the Seventeen Prize at the 8th Toho Cinderella Audition, a talent competition organized by Toho.
Career
Fukumoto Riko entered the entertainment industry in 2016 after winning the Grand Prix at the 8th Toho Cinderella Audition, a nationwide talent contest organized by Toho. She signed with Toho Entertainment and began professional activities in 2017. Her screen debut came in 2018 with a supporting role in the period film Flea-picking Samurai.
In 2020, she took her first major film role in the youth romance Love Me, Love Me Not, adapted from the popular manga by Io Sakisaka. The same year, she expanded into television with roles in dramas broadcast by major Japanese networks, consolidating her presence both on screen and on TV.
