Guan Xiaotong is a Chinese actress and singer, born on September 17, 1997, in Beijing, China. She works in acting and music and is known for her roles in the films The Left Ear and Shadow, as well as the television series To Be a Better Man.
Early life
Guan Xiaotong was born into an artistic family. Her father, Guan Shaozeng, is an actor, and her grandfather, Guan Xuezeng, was a master of Beijing Qinshu, a traditional form of Chinese folk singing.
From a young age, influenced by her family, she was encouraged to pursue the arts and developed a particular love for dance and piano. She began acting at the age of four and a half, making her first appearance alongside her father in a television production in 2001, marking the official start of her acting career.
Career
Guan Xiaotong began acting in 2001 at the age of four and a half, appearing alongside her father in a television drama. In 2003, she played the lead role in Nuan, which won the Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Film Festival. This is considered a milestone that established her as a promising child actress.
During her childhood, she appeared in Chen Kaige’s The Promise (2005) and participated in numerous television dramas, steadily building her presence on Chinese screens.
In 2014, Guan starred in the drama series May December Love, earning the Best Supporting Actress award at the Hengdian Film and TV Festival for her performance.
