Lu Han (鹿晗), born April 20, 1990, in Haidian District, Beijing, China, is a singer, actor, and dancer. Lu Han began a career in South Korea as a member of the boy group EXO and its sub-unit EXO-M, serving as a vocalist and dancer.
After departing from EXO in 2014, Lu Han pursued a solo career in China, active in both the music and film industries.
Early life
Lu Han attended Yuying Primary School, followed by Beijing Shida Middle School and Haidian Foreign Language Experimental School. After graduating from high school, Lu Han moved to South Korea as an exchange student at Yonsei University and later majored in Applied Music at the Seoul Institute of the Arts.
In 2010, Lu Han was scouted by SM Entertainment through a recommendation and signed as a trainee. Lu Han officially debuted with EXO in December 2011.
Career
In April 2012, Lu Han debuted as a member of EXO and EXO-M. The group became one of the prominent musical acts in South Korea and China during the early 2010s. On October 10, 2014, Lu Han filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment at the Seoul Central District Court to nullify the exclusive contract, subsequently returning to China and establishing Lu Han Studio to manage solo activities.
In September 2015, Lu Han released the first digital EP, Reloaded I, which sold over one million copies on QQ Music within five days. In December 2015, Lu Han released the debut studio album Reloaded, the first album from mainland China to be certified Platinum by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). At the 2016 QQ Music Awards, Lu Han won Best Digital Album and Male Singer of the Year.
In 2016, Lu Han embarked on the first solo tour, Reloaded: 2016 Lu Han 1st China Tour. That same year, the single albums Xperience and Xplore were released in collaboration with international producers such as The Picard Brothers
In 2017, the XXVII Project was launched, featuring multiple digital singles and the album XXVII+, which received the Album of the Year award at the Asian Music Gala.
Between 2018 and 2019, Lu Han continued the π-volume series. π-volume.1 (April 2019) sold approximately 3.48 million copies, while π-volume.2 (August 2019) sold 1.32 million copies on Chinese music platforms. From 2020 onward, Lu Han released independent digital singles, appeared in variety shows, and focused on acting.
In 2020 and 2021, the π project continued with π-volume.3 and π-volume.4, including singles such as “Dream Up” and “Slow Motion”.
In 2021, Lu Han released the studio album π: Ready To Play? and the single “Gone With the Wind”, reaching nearly two million digital sales.
In 2022 and 2023, Lu Han released singles including “Slow Ride”, “Keep Me Alive”, “Crossing the Universe”, and “P.XyZ”. These tracks appeared on the TME UNI Charts.
In 2024, Lu Han released several singles, including “1.1”, “Shadow”, “Dream All Summer”, “That’s Right”, “Wang Wang”, and “Fill Me In Love”. These works were distributed on platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.
In 2025, Lu Han returned to the stage with the “Season 4 Asia Tour”, beginning in Shanghai in June and expanding to Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
