Early Life

Park Ji-hu was born and raised in Suseong District, Daegu. She attended Samdeok Elementary School, followed by Dongwon Middle School and Dongmoon High School.

Her path to acting began in middle school when she was unexpectedly approached by a talent scout on the streets of Daegu and invited to audition. From then on, she began attending casting calls and gradually pursued a career in performance.

In 2021, Park was admitted to Hanyang University’s Department of Theater and Film, formally beginning her professional training with the aim of developing a long-term career in acting.

Career

Park Ji-hu’s artistic journey began in 2014 after she was scouted through a street audition. She made her official acting debut in 2016 with the short film Home Without Me.

Between 2016 and 2017, she appeared in minor roles in several mainstream films, including Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned (2016), Fabricated City (2017), and The Witness (2018). These early experiences allowed her to gain on-set training and become familiar with professional film production.

A major turning point came in 2018 when Park took on her first leading role as Kim Eun-hee in the independent film House of Hummingbird. The performance brought her critical acclaim and earned her multiple “Best New Actress” honors, including awards from the Tribeca Film Festival, the Korean Association of Film Critics, the Director’s Cut Awards, and Cine21 in 2019. She also received nominations at several prestigious ceremonies such as the Baeksang Arts Awards, the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Her international breakthrough came in 2022 when she starred as Nam On-jo in Netflix’s zombie series All of Us Are Dead, which garnered her wide recognition from global audiences. In the same year, she portrayed Oh In-hye in tvN’s drama Little Women, acting alongside Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-hyun, and Wi Ha-joon.

Expanding her career into hosting, Park served as an MC for the music program Inkigayo from 2023 to 2024, co-hosting with Yeonjun and Woonhak. She also appeared in the music video for NewJeans’ Ditto in 2022.
