She primarily operates within the mainland Chinese television industry and is recognized for her roles in both period and contemporary dramas. She gained prominence for her portrayal of Mu Yao in Scent of Time (2023) and for her participation in 2024 projects such as The Double and Dawn Amidst Hidden Clouds.

Early life

Zhao Qing was born in Daqing, Heilongjiang, China. While some sources previously suggested Hangzhou, Zhejiang as her place of origin, official industry records confirm her background in Heilongjiang. She graduated from the Zhejiang University of Media and Communications.

Prior to her acting career, she established a significant presence on social media as a model and content creator specializing in Hanfu. She transitioned into professional acting in 2021.

Career

Zhao Qing began her acting career in 2021 with the period drama Palace Step by Step, playing the role of screenwriter Ma Shumiao. That same year, she appeared in the fantasy mini-series The Magic Grocery Store as Xiao Qi, a feline spirit in human form.

In 2022, she garnered attention for her performance as An Duoduo, a strong-willed jewelry designer in the short-form series Don’t Mess With My Ex-Girlfriend. She also featured in the fantasy romance A Little Bit of a Lie.

Her career progressed further in 2023. She portrayed Concubine Zhen in Hi Producer, a series focused on intangible cultural heritage, and played Long Mengli, the Third Princess of Northern Liao, in the romantic period drama The Princess’s New Clothes.
