BTS is a South Korean boy band consisting of seven members active in the K-pop industry. The group debuted on June 13, 2013, under Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE). The seven members, all of South Korean nationality, are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Name meaning
BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), which translates to “Bulletproof Boy Scouts.” The term Bangtan (방탄) means “bulletproof,” while Sonyeondan (소년단) means “a group of boys.” According to J-Hope, the name signifies the group’s intention to protect adolescents from the prejudices, criticisms, and societal expectations that are aimed at them like bullets.
Fandom and lightstick
