Meaning of Name

The name VIVIZ carries two key meanings:

  1. It is derived from “VIVId dayZ,” symbolizing the group’s aspiration to shine brightly and proudly present their own unique colors to the world.
  2. It also comes from the final syllables of the members’ real names: Eunbi (Eunha), Eunbi (SinB), and Umji (Umji).

Fandom & Lightstick

The official fandom name of VIVIZ is Na.V, announced on January 21, 2022.

Na.V combines “나” (na), meaning “I” in Korean, representing the fans, and the “V” from VIVIZ. It conveys the meaning of “flying beautifully together with VIVIZ.” The name also resembles the Korean word “나비” (nabi), meaning butterfly.

The official lightstick features the VIVIZ logo at the top and a butterfly logo inside, designed with the members’ signature colors. The logo can rotate within the lightstick. It measures 23.2 × 10 × 3 cm, runs on three AAA batteries, and comes with a wrist strap and a user manual.

Popularity

VIVIZ has gained popularity mainly in Asia, especially in South Korea, while also attracting attention from the international market. The group appeals to a wide range of audiences thanks to their diverse music style and the members’ prior experience as part of GFRIEND. Their debut track Bop Bop! was remixed by Belgian DJ Yves V, expanding their reach into the European market.

They competed in Queendom 2 and placed third in the finale. VIVIZ also became the first K-pop girl group to appear in The Recording Academy’s Global Spin series, performing at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul. In 2025, they embarked on their world tour NEW LEGACY, marking their growing international presence.

Awards

  • 2022: Won “Female Rookie Idol of the Year” at the Brand of the Year Awards and “K-Global Hot Star Award” at the K-Global Heart Dream Awards. They also earned two music show wins with their debut song Bop Bop!.
  • 2023: Received the “Emerging Artist” award at the HANTEO Music Awards.
  • 2024: Honored with “Popular Performance Group” at the 31st HANTEO Music Awards and “Universal Social Icon” at the Universal Superstar Awards.

Musical Style

VIVIZ has developed a wide-ranging musical identity, spanning from disco-pop with Latin elements to contemporary K-pop. Their debut album Beam of Prism introduced a disco sound with Latin-inspired rhythms through Bop Bop!. Follow-up releases like LOVEADE, Pull Up, and MANIAC highlighted their musical evolution with a more mainstream direction compared to GFRIEND’s symphonic style.

The albums VERSUS (2023) and VOYAGE (2024) explored darker concepts and Latin-inspired sounds with tracks like MANIAC and Shhh!. Visually, VIVIZ transitioned from their bright, fresh debut concept to more mature imagery, showcasing versatility in handling different artistic directions. Compared to current K-pop trends, the group maintains a balance between contemporary appeal and their distinctive identity through their signature vocal harmonies.
