Known for her background in ballet and elegant performance style, she serves as a main dancer and sub-vocalist within the group.

Early life

Mina was born in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. She holds Japanese citizenship. Her father, Akira Myoui, is an orthopedic surgeon at Osaka University Hospital, and her mother is Sachiko Myoui (née Terao). Mina was scouted by JYP Entertainment in Japan in 2013 and officially became a trainee on January 2, 2014.

Career

On October 20, 2015, Mina officially debuted with TWICE through their first extended play (EP) The Story Begins and its lead single “Like OOH-AHH.” Since her debut, she has served as a main dancer and sub-vocalist. Throughout her career with TWICE, she has contributed to numerous hits, including “Cheer Up,” “TT,” “Likey,” “Fancy,” “Feel Special,” “I Can’t Stop Me,” and “Set Me Free.” Due to her frequent center positions in dance performances and her sophisticated image, she is often nicknamed “Black Swan” by fans.

In 2019, Mina briefly took a hiatus from activities due to mental health concerns. She returned to the group in early 2020 to resume her participation in TWICE’s promotions.
