Pharita Boonpakdeethaveeyod is a Thai idol singer, born in 2005, and currently a member of the girl group BABYMONSTER under YG Entertainment. She holds the position of a vocalist in the group’s official lineup.
Early Life
Pharita was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, in a business-oriented family. Her mother runs a large local flower shop, while her father works in the finance sector. Her family has appeared in Thai media through various community events, known for their warm and approachable image. Pharita attended Ruamrudee International School, a prestigious international school in Bangkok.
Before joining YG Entertainment, she worked as a child model and won the title of Teen Model Thailand 2018 at just 13 years old. Friends describe her personality as calm, disciplined, and reserved, but not unfriendly.
Career Highlights
Pharita passed YG Entertainment’s audition in 2020, standing out among over 1,200 applicants in Thailand. She officially became a trainee in July 2020. After a two-and-a-half-year training period, she made her debut on April 1, 2024, with the single “SHEESH” as part of the K-pop group BABYMONSTER.
During the lead-up to her debut, Pharita was one of two Thai trainees introduced early by YG through the survival series “Last Evaluation,” broadcast on the company’s official YouTube channel starting February 2023. In the final performance round, she sang “What Other People Say” (Sam Fischer & Demi Lovato), emerging as one of the standout trainees vying for a spot in BABYMONSTER’s debut lineup.
On July 11, 2024, BABYMONSTER released their first mini album “BABYMONS7ER”, with Pharita taking on the main vocal line in two tracks, “LIKE THAT” and “Stuck in the Middle.” Her live performances on music shows like M Countdown (July 11, 2024) and Inkigayo (July 14, 2024) were noted by Korean media outlets such as OSEN, Newsen, and Star News, praising her for stable high notes, particularly during the climactic parts of the songs. Additionally, discussions on forums like TheQoo and Pann Nate highlighted her breath control and pitch accuracy during live performances, despite the demanding choreography that required continuous movement.
Strengths
Pharita has a high, resonant, and bright vocal tone. Within BABYMONSTER’s songs, she is often in charge of hooks and high notes. Her breath control and ability to maintain a stable tone were described as “consistent” by YG Entertainment’s main producer, Choi Hyun Suk, during the vocal performance evaluation aired on Last Evaluation (March 16, 2023).
In addition to her native Thai, she also speaks both English and Korean to support her activities in South Korea. Her confidence in communication has allowed her to take on interview roles at international events such as the Weverse Con Festival 2024 and the Asia Artist Awards in Japan 2024.
Challenges
In March 2023, when BABYMONSTER’s official lineup was announced, Pharita faced controversy on Korean forums over visual standards and her suitability to debut. Some viewers claimed she lacked a standout aura for a main vocal position. However, by the time of BABYMONSTER’s debut, her stable live stages began to dispel these biases, with her vocal performances on weekly music shows receiving growing recognition.
During BABYMONSTER’s promotional tour in Japan (May–June 2024), Pharita suffered a minor injury to her right wrist, requiring modifications to her choreography in certain performances.
Fashion
Pharita often opts for a simple and casual style in daily life, typically seen wearing tank tops, high-waisted jeans, and white sneakers.
On stage, she favors streamlined outfits like bodysuits paired with crop jackets, using glossy materials or light embellishments. These are usually matched with platform sneakers or low-heeled boots, maintaining a sleek silhouette while still standing out under stage lighting.
Whether in performances or everyday settings, Pharita’s style remains consistently elegant and understated—portraying the image of a youthful, graceful, yet captivating idol.
