Rosé, born Roseanne Park (박채영, Park Chae-young) on February 11, 1997, in Auckland, New Zealand, is a Korean–New Zealander singer and dancer under YG Entertainment. She is the main vocalist and lead dancer of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK.

Early Life

At the age of 7, Rosé moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia, where she attended Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College. From a young age, she displayed remarkable musical talent, playing both guitar and piano. She participated in her school’s choir and often performed at local events in Melbourne.

Career

In 2012, Rosé auditioned for South Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment in Sydney and was accepted, moving to Seoul as a trainee for four years. That same year, she featured in G-Dragon’s Without You (EP One of a Kind), which reached the top 10 on South Korea’s Gaon Chart.

In August 2016, Rosé debuted as a member of BLACKPINK with the single album Square One, featuring Whistle and Boombayah, which quickly propelled the group into the global mainstream. While promoting with BLACKPINK, she appeared on music and variety shows such as King of Masked Singer and Fantastic Duo, showcasing her distinctive vocals beyond group activities.

In March 2021, Rosé made her solo debut with the single album R, featuring On the Ground and Gone. R recorded the highest first-week sales for a female K-pop soloist at the time with 448,089 copies. From 2024 to 2025, Rosé signed exclusive management contracts with The Black Label and Atlantic Records, releasing the single Apt. in collaboration with Bruno Mars, which topped the Billboard Global 200 and led multiple charts in South Korea and Australia. Her debut studio album Rosie achieved record-high rankings for a female K-pop soloist in both the U.S. and the UK. This period marked her expansion into global solo activities while continuing group promotions under a renewed agreement post-2023.

Fashion

Since 2020, Rosé has served as the Global Ambassador for luxury fashion house Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), personally invited by Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello to attend the Met Gala. She has continued to work closely with YSL, appearing in global campaigns between 2023 and 2025.
