Rosé, born Roseanne Park (박채영, Park Chae-young) on February 11, 1997, in Auckland, New Zealand, is a Korean–New Zealander singer and dancer under YG Entertainment. She is the main vocalist and lead dancer of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK.

Early Life

At the age of 7, Rosé moved with her family to Melbourne, Australia, where she attended Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College. From a young age, she displayed remarkable musical talent, playing both guitar and piano. She participated in her school’s choir and often performed at local events in Melbourne.

Career

Rosé participated in a YG Entertainment audition held in Sydney, Australia, in 2012, where she ranked first among approximately 700 applicants. YG Entertainment is a South Korean entertainment company involved in the production, management, and training of K-pop artists. Two months after the audition, she signed a contract with the company and relocated to Seoul to begin her trainee period.

After four years of training, on June 22, 2016, Rosé was revealed as the final member of BLACKPINK, a girl group under YG Entertainment. The group officially debuted on August 8, 2016, with the single album Square One, which included the tracks “Whistle” and “Boombayah.”

In 2018, BLACKPINK signed a global distribution and promotion agreement with the American record label Interscope Records as part of a strategic partnership with YG Entertainment to expand the group’s international activities.

In 2019, Rosé performed with BLACKPINK at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, marking the group as the first K-pop girl group to appear at the event, and participated in the In Your Area World Tour, which took place from November 2018 to February 2020.

In 2020, Rosé became a global ambassador for the French luxury fashion brand Saint Laurent and appeared in the Pre-Fall 2020 campaign under the direction of creative director Anthony Vaccarello.

In March 2021, Rosé released her debut solo single album R, consisting of the tracks “On the Ground” and “Gone,” through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. “On the Ground” achieved the highest peak ever recorded by a Korean female solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Global 200 chart.

In April 2021, she was appointed as a global ambassador for the American luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. and appeared in the Tiffany HardWear advertising campaign.

From October 2022 to September 2023, she participated in the Born Pink World Tour with BLACKPINK, comprising 66 performances across 22 countries in support of the group’s second studio album Born Pink.

On December 6, 2024, she released her debut solo studio album Rosie, consisting of 12 tracks, through The Black Label and Atlantic Records. She served as a co-songwriter and co-producer on all tracks alongside her collaborators.

In September 2025, Rosé appeared at the Global Citizen Festival in New York, marking her first solo performance at a music festival. During the first half of 2025, she continued promoting the album Rosie and the single “APT.”, both of which maintained strong performances on global music charts.
