Ryu Sarang (born April 18, 2007) is a South Korean singer, dancer, and rapper under WAKEONE. She is a member of the South Korean girl group izna. Ryu Sarang debuted as a member of izna on November 25, 2024, with the release of the extended play (EP) N/a.
Early life
Ryu Sarang was born in Garak-dong, Yeongdo-gu, Busan, South Korea. Her parents are pastors, and she participated in church choirs and praise teams during her youth. She attended Seoul Gadong Elementary School and Songpa Middle School.
Prior to her career as an idol, Ryu Sarang was a child dancer for the group H.O.T. and received dance training at Red Stage Dance Academy. She passed auditions for JYP Entertainment and Source Music before joining WAKEONE in April 2022.
Career
On March 21, 2024, Ryu Sarang was introduced as a contestant on the Mnet reality competition show I-LAND 2. In the final episode aired on July 4, 2024, she ranked fifth with 319,693 votes, securing her place in the final lineup of the group izna.
Ryu Sarang officially debuted with izna on November 25, 2024, with the EP N/a, featuring the tracks “TIMEBOMB”, “IWALY (izna ver.)”, “DRIP”, and “FAKE IT”.
In 2025, Ryu Sarang participated in promotional activities for izna’s singles and tracks, including “SIGN” and “BEEP”. She also appeared in various performance videos and fan-cams released through the group’s official media channels.
