Sihyeon (born Kim Sihyeon, August 5, 1999) is a South Korean singer, dancer, and actress. She is the leader and lead vocalist of the girl group EVERGLOW, active since 2019.
Early life
Sihyeon was born in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. She has an older brother. She attended Sampyeong Middle School and graduated from Neulpureun High School.
In 2016, Sihyeon participated in the survival reality show Produce 101 as an independent trainee. She was eliminated in episode 8, finishing in 40th place. Following the program, she signed a contract with Yuehua Entertainment.
In 2018, Sihyeon participated in Produce 48 after training for two years and two months at Yuehua Entertainment. She was eliminated in the third round, finishing in 27th place. She completed a total training period of two years and ten months prior to her debut.
Career
In 2019, on March 18, Sihyeon debuted as a member of the girl group EVERGLOW with the single album Arrival of Everglow and its lead single “Bon Bon Chocolat.” This track reached number five on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. On August 19 of the same year, the group released their second single album Hush featuring the lead single “Adios,” which peaked at number two on the U.S. World Digital Song Sales chart.
In 2020, on February 3, she and the group released the single album Reminiscence with the song “Dun Dun,” reaching number three on the same chart. On February 7, Sihyeon was announced as an MC for the SBS program The Show alongside Juyeon and Kim Min Kyu. Later that year, on September 18, EVERGLOW released their first mini album -77.82X-78.29 with the lead single “La Di Da.”
In 2021, on February 2, she concluded her role as an MC for The Show. On May 25, Sihyeon was appointed as the leader of the group, replacing E:U starting with the single album Last Melody. On December 1, the group released their third mini album Return of the Girl with the lead single “Pirate.”
In 2023, on August 18, EVERGLOW returned after a one-year and eight-month hiatus with the mini album All My Girls and the lead single “Slay.”
In 2024, on April 12, it was announced that Sihyeon would make her acting debut in the television drama Salon de Holmes.
In 2025, on September 10, Sihyeon along with members E:U, Onda, and Aisha signed with CHXXTA Company to continue their activities after departing from Yuehua Entertainment. On October 2, the group announced a world tour titled “2026 EVERGLOW WORLD TOUR [RE:CODE].”
