Yiren, born Wang Yiren on December 29, 2000, is a Chinese singer and dancer. She is active in the K-pop industry in South Korea under the management of Yuehua Entertainment. Yiren debuted as a member of the K-pop girl group Everglow on March 18, 2019, where she holds the positions of lead dancer, sub-vocalist, sub-rapper, visual, center, and maknae.
Early life
Yiren was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. During her youth, she attended Hangzhou No. 13 Middle School and later enrolled at the Zhejiang Arts Vocational Academy, majoring in traditional Chinese dance.
Prior to her debut, Yiren participated in the survival show Produce 48 in 2018 as a trainee under Yuehua Entertainment, alongside several other trainees. She was eliminated from the program in the 11th episode, finishing in 28th place overall.
Yiren underwent a training period of approximately two years and two months (from 2017 to March 2019) before becoming a member of the group Everglow.
Career
In 2018, Yiren appeared on Produce 48 as a trainee under Yuehua Entertainment and was eliminated in episode 11 with a final rank of 28th.
In 2019, Yiren made her debut on March 18 as a member of EVERGLOW through the single album Arrival of Everglow with the lead track Bon Bon Chocolat. Within the group, she held the positions of lead dancer, sub vocalist, sub rapper, center, and maknae.
In 2020, Yiren participated in the release of the mini album Reminiscence on February 3 and −77.82X−78.29 on September 21 with EVERGLOW, with tracks from both releases promoted in South Korea.
In 2021, she took part in the release of the mini album Return of the Girl on December 1 with the lead single Pirate and performed in promotional stages with the group.
In 2022, Yiren suspended activities in South Korea starting in January to focus on activities in China. She later released the solo digital single Call Call on August 31 under Yuehua China.
In 2023, Yiren returned to group activities with EVERGLOW for the release of the single album All My Girls on August 18 with the title track Slay and participated in related promotional performances.
In 2024, she took part in EVERGLOW activities for the release of the single album Zombie on June 10 and its accompanying promotional events in Asia.
In 2025, Yiren concluded her contract with Yuehua Entertainment and departed from Everglow on August 2. Yiren continued a solo career under Yuehua China, having been signed with the subsidiary since 2022. In December, Yiren began filming the Chinese historical drama Transfer Gold Hairpin, a Youku production adapted from the novel Jia Jin Chai by Xiao Jiaren.
