Ayane (born Takami Ayane, 高見 文寧) is a Japanese singer and member of ME:I under LAPONE Girls, where she is a vocalist.
Early life
Takami Ayane was born on May 15, 2005, in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Her parents often took her to concerts and musicals when she was young. She became interested in idol music after listening to Girls’ Generation as a child, and later developed an interest in singing through her older sister. She learned ballet in kindergarten and spent ten years studying jazz dance.
Takami attended Otani Junior and Senior High School in Kyoto. There, she joined the light music club and was the main vocalist in two school bands, Vintage and Ichi Ni Sun. She had originally planned to study songwriting and composition at university, but after a friend told her about an upcoming audition program, she decided to audition.
Career
2023
On March 30, 2023, Takami competed in a high school music contest representing Ichi Ni Sun, winning the Grand Prix.
On July 30, 2023, she competed in another high school music contest with Vintage, winning the Maizuru City Mayor Award.
On September 3, 2023, Takami was announced as a contestant on Produce 101 Japan The Girls. The show premiered on Lemino on October 5. In episode 1, she performed IZ*ONE’s Suki to Iwasetai with the Cool Girls team, received an A rank from the trainers, and was ranked 2nd by her fellow trainees. In the group battle round, she was the main vocalist for team WAKEY with Nogizaka46’s Seifuku no Mannequin. The team won with 151 audience votes. On December 16, 2023, Takami finished in 3rd place with 686,868 votes and debuted as a member of ME:I.
2024
On April 17, 2024, Takami debuted with ME:I through their first single MIRAI. In May 2024, she performed with the group at KCON JAPAN 2024.
During Tsuzumi’s hiatus in 2024, Takami performed the song’s fourth high note in ‘Click’ at Laposta 2024.
In July 2024, ME:I performed at KCON LA 2024.
2025
In May 2025, Takami turned 20 and placed 1st in a monthly popularity poll conducted by a Japanese fan site, with 641 out of 987 votes.
